Raced a 04 SRT-4 and 04 Lancer EVO

I haven't raced one yet, but I know they are fast. And the whole it's still a neon thing is true, but you can't argue with results. But look at the bright side, when his tranny and engine go in about 4 months, you will definetly own him then.

I dont get this every SRT-4 i have seen at the track has gone in the low 14s. That is not such a beast of a car. I had gears and catback when i went 14.30s. I know with mods they can be quick. But in some coincidence i have recently raced two one stock and one with a boost contoller and took them both.

I think there is too much of a gap in Dodge... They have a cool SRT4 and a Viper, but what's in between the two? I'm talking about something to rival the Mustang. I'd like to see a RWD 2 door coupe with a Hemi in it I guess that would more than simply rival the Mustang but cool just the same.

Now if only Ford wasn't so gay and produce a supercharged Focus!!!

i think they have a turboed one called the RS Focus, but not in america....imagine that

If you read through the list of Saleen modifications to the Focus’s 2.3-liter, all-aluminum, double-overhead-cam, 4-valve-per cylinder, 4-cylinder, you’ll find a Saleen performance air filter and a Saleen performance center exhaust system on the list. At the bottom of the list are the following three words: nitrous compatible elements. Basically this is shorthand for an engine that will come “nitrous ready” with everything you need to melt the front tires except for a full nitrous bottle, the main hose to the engine and a couple of jumpers to hook up the wiring.

Personally, I thought the Saleen Focus wasn't very impressive. Lots of money invested in aftermarket goodies with very little performance gain.

As far as Dodge goes, they have alot going on right now as mentioned above. They also have confirmed that there will be a new model based on the Magnum/300 platform and it will use the nameplate "Charger". There is also plans for SRT-8 versions of both the Magnum and the Charger.

And the SRT-4 Neon? I respect these. Any car that can perform like that I respect whether it is domestic or foreign, 2 door or 4 door, has 4, 6, 8, 10, whatever cylinders, n/a or f/i, fwd, rwd or awd, etc, etc, etc.

I was watching tuner transformation the other night, they were doing a srt-4. they put a bigger turbo, blowoff valve, injectors all the hoopla to go with it and an exhaust. according to them with a conservative 16lbs of boost they were getting 376hp and 349lb/ft at the wheels. you gotta respect it for the price.

SVT developed a concept focus R that put out 200 turbo charged horse. I couldn't find anything about state-side production though, so I guess we're out of luck.

Do a search for the focus RS. It packs a turbo but was only available for sale in europe and in very limited numbers.

i think one of the import rags did a test of the Focus RS..and it wasnt all that impressive, cuz it was heavy as hell!....ill see what i can find..

I really don't know about this srt-4 crap sure they are insane fast I agree...but to be respected??? I mean they are pulling every last horsepower available out of a dinky little engine (knowing yes you can go insane and add even more power to them) those engines cannot be expected to last very long running such insane amounts of boost I don't know maybe I am off on this but it seems the best most reliable way to produce power is still though good old fashioned naturally aspirated large displacement engines (not to say induction ain't fun)

Dodge/Mopar is still working on Stage 3, supposedly it will make 300 at the wheels

they're still debating whether to make it a 2 door or a 4 door, or make both (referring to the Charger)
