Raced an EVO 8 and SES light came on

well guys i was racing a modified EVO 8 and won but mid race my SES light came on i thought after i let the car cool off it may turn off but no luck. I havent gotten the code pulled yet but i am planning on doin so in the morning. anyone got any ideas on what may have cause the light to come on? My car is a 00 GT with a Saleen Speedlab Supercharger, 30# injectors, flowmaster exhaust, etc. etc.. hopefully that will help thanks.

Has your car been tuned? Are the O2 sensors turned off?

It's probably a sensor. But you might want to reset the codes and see if it comes on again after a few days of driving. You might get lucky.

Seriously though, just go get it checked out. Autoparts stores around your area may check your codes for free.

I doubt it's something major.

yes the car is tuned .. i had it dyno tuned around 10k miles which is when the supercharger and fuel system etc.. was installed the car now has 40K and the SES light has never came on . until now.. the computer also has been reflashed by saleen and custom tuned by them as well

went to autozone today and got this code.. P1506 somethin to do with Manufacture Control Vehicle Idle Speed Control Aux Input anyone kno what that all means?

P1506 Idle Air Control Over Speed Error.

probably means its time to clean or replace the IAC. if you havent replaced it yet, then it probably is time. have u noticed any problems with the cars idle?? like flux in RPMs when at idle, surging, stalling at idle or bogging down when given gas from a dead stop??

Yeah that could be the problem, those things have a tendency to malfunction on mustangs and other fords.

Don't replace it until you are sure.
