Radiator Cap

I thought 13 was normal, at least for my 69 and everything newer that I have. Higher pressure cap will give you a few more degrees before it boils but will also raise the pressure of the system which could cause a leak if you have old stuff and its been running at 10 PSI for a long time.

i have a nasty lookin 10lb cap on my 65, and was wanting to buy a new one. should i go back with a 10 lb? or get a 13 lb? whats the pros/cons to a heavier cap?

The 13 psi cap will raise the pressure in the system to 13 psi vs the 10 psi with the 10 psi cap.

A pro would be that under more pressure the boiling point of water is raised.

My brother and I both use Water Wetter and have been satisfied with it. I have an electric fan that comes on around 185 and before Water Wetter the fan would always stay running once it turned on, on a hot day while at idle. Now the fan cycles on and off like its supposed to because it can cool better.

i also have a electric fan, but it stays on. its wired in where when the key is on, its on. i will prolly change that when summer gets over with. what temperature differences did you see? how many bottles did you use? i have a friend with a built stang and he uses 5 bottles of this stuff.

the higher lbs. cap the better (as long as your cooling system will handle ther higher pressure)
You can pressure test your cooling system to see if it holds at higher lbs.
13# shouldnt be a problem.
on aftermarket alum radiators, 16# shouldnt be a problem.
