I have a 3-row radiator on my '66 and it's all crudded up. I filled it with tap water (I know, I know, younger and dumber) and let it sit for a couple years. Now I finally got the car running again and it's running a little hot. It idles at 180 but if I rev it to 2500 or so it creeps on up to about 210.
So...
I was looking at radiators in my catalogs. Mustangs Unlimited has the same radiator for $124, not bad. Could go that route. They also have an aluminum 2 row for $289. Does anybody have this? It's one less row but it is aluminum. This engine is a 331 making around 400 hp hopefully once I get it tuned up.
Other thing I was thinking about trying is taking the radiator out and soaking it in some CLR for a while to try to remove the minerals that are in there. That stuff works great on showerheads, any reason I wouldn't want to use it on my radiator?
