A couple seperate questions for ya'll...

In my 87 LX, the radio sometimes cuts out the left side speakers (front and rear) or they go way down in volume compared to the right side speakers. Sometimes pressing upwards under the radio in that little cubbyhole will restore them temporarily, as can setting the fade and balance to the front left and bringing the bass and volume all the way up. Sometimes that causes the speakers to cut back in, and sometimes not.

My guess is that there is a loose connection in the radio wiring. (Hopefully, not in the radio itself). The backlight for the station/time dispaly is also burnt out.

I have the removal tools, but I can only get the radio to slide partway out, and the cubbyhole under it comes out attached to it. How can I (safely) get the radio all the way out to check/correct the wiring and replace the bulb?

And also, once I have the radio out, how do I replace the bulb, and what is the replacement bulb part # at AutoZone?

Next, my headlight switch. It is not mounted properly in its hole, and moves inward into the dash when I use it. A few days ago I could not get my headlights on (only my parking lights) and had to drive home 40 miles with high beam headlights.

How do I replace it, and will a salvage yard most likely have an undamaged one that I can pull, or is this a chronic condition?

Thanks!
