Finally got the SVO running good enough to take it to the track (www.srcadragstrip.com). I didn't have any good tires for it so I ended up running on 215-60-16 Kumho Ecsta hard as a rock (340 treadwear) tires. They are about 90% worn off (how did that happen? ). Some of the runs resulted in spinning clear into 3rd gear. I ended up making 14 runs.

Unplugging the knock sensor on back to back runs went from 94.8 mph to 101.4 mph

Best runs where made with a spike to 21 that would settle to 18-19psi

Best 60': 2.29
Best 330': 6.20
Best 1/8 ET: 9.27
Best 1/8 MPH: 80.27
Best 1000': 11.92
Best 1/4 ET: 14.11
Best 1/4 MPH: 103.24

Best Full Run:
60': 2.37
1/8 ET: 9.32
1/8 MPH: 80.27
1/4 ET: 14.11
1/4 MPH 103.24

There were two vehicles there I wanted to run...they kept racing each other though. A new GTO and a new Ram SRT-10. Both of them must have been horrible drivers as they were both trapping under 98mph and running 14.5-15.2 ET's

Best race of the night was against a cherry '70 Chevelle with a 454 and an auto trans (unsure of engine mods). What I do know is they were on slicks and had an MSD box to launch with. Here is the slip:

SVO Chevelle
60': 2.34 2.075
1/8 ET: 9.32 8.835
1/8 MPH: 80.27 79.51
1/4 ET: 14.11 13.75
1/4 MPH 103.24 100.03

I was running it down on the big end but ran out of track...

Overall I was happy with the way it ran for the first time to the track. It's still basically untuned as the a/f ratio is between 10.5-11.0:1 throughout the run.

Oh, and it appears that the 103.28 trap speed could correlate with an ET as low as 13.2 if conditions were right...like if I had slicks.

Was that with the struts on fully soft?

If it were me.....the car wouldn't start when I went back to it. Thats ok though because the next car to come along to help me would be a trooper.

I miss highway 114. It didn't have big hay rolls but it was long and straight.

Now how do you suggest I take a pic of myself doing a burnout?

You know what the best part is? On my last run, I missed third gear so I said the hell with it and put it in third and cruised my way down the track...never running less than 5" vacuum. Then, I got my timeslip and I ran a 17.98 @ 62mph...still faster than Crovax's "killer" n/a time

Hey I never said you had to be the one to take the pic. There should be a guy with a turbo civic running around there to take a pic.

ok so we'll pass the torch then.

Quickest N/A Stangnet run "EVAR"

dang. your svo is faster than my svo now...

Those are good times though, nice work. Glad to see someone else is trying to skate at the dragstrip w/ some good round stones mounted up.

I'll have some new times in a month - I believe the cars are setup nearly identical, should give a good idea the value of your header.

I could never live in the midwest. Just to dang flat.

Looks like I'm going to have to go burnout a few miles north so you guys won't think it's so flat around here...

Yeah, I'll be curious to see your trap...we are setup neary identical besides the header. If you are too close I'll have to do a little tuning and do it again

My SVO:
Best reaction~~~~.512
Best 60'~~~~~~~2.28
Best 1/8~~~~~~9.63
Best 1/8 mph~~~~~76.53

well...I don't think my only real performance change of a big throttle body alone is gonna give me much more than a tenth and maybe 2 mph. But it will be cooler temps. So we'll know in a month.

then you'll tune it eh? I need to learn to be so cocky.

Haha...yeah, it will be interesting to see if your blow thru vam and TB help much...

You've had a few years to dial your car in...I should at least have a few months to do the same

Well I should hope so with all the "go fast" parts you have.
Your right on track with Bhuff. Not Enuff.

Best 60': 2.29____I got you with a 2.18.
Best 330': 6.20____Still getting you with a 6.18.
Best 1/8 ET: 9.27____Right on you with a 9.52.

Like I said above, all the "go fast" parts, but I don't see anything special.
I still only run 15psi. 4psi = .3 off the 1/8th?

Did you miss the "n/a" part?

We all know et is all about tires, suspension, and driver...you wanna talk about hp then you study the trap speeds.

Won't work. The original and standing canon of the OSFC prohibits Stinger from appointing officers. Otherwise we'd be "Stingers Band of Merry Men".

This was done for the good of all.

Let them argue, Cro's still his #1 fan.

I can...from a roll over 20mph.

I also can with slicks...just haven't bought any yet....gotta leave a little on the table for people to pick it apart

(Tell Matt to get his ass in gear about the slicks)
