Rattling Sound (related to clutch?)

I just picked up a new 88 GT and there is a rattling sound coming from the front end when driving - I'm almost positive it's not coming from the engine. Whenever I touch the clutch pedal it stops.

Another thing that may or may not be related - The car will only start when the clutch pedal is pressed all the way to the floor. It won't start when the car is just in neutral - the clutch has to be fully engaged. Neutral safety switch?

the clicking sound is more than likely the throw out bearing.

I'm also guessing the rattling sound is the throw out bearing.

The clutch has to be pushed in for the engine to turn over, this is normal.

yeah change your throwout bearing. and i'd bypass the neutral safety switch. it's a hassle for me because mine is like yours where i have to have it SMASHED against the floor for it to allow me to start my car. and when i say smash i don't mean just press the clutch pedal in. i think mine's either going out or something is bent up there.

If not mentioned previously, TOB.

And above was correct about the starter interlock circuit. The switch is on the back of the clutch pedal arm. You can feel the nipple that gets depressed when the pedal is on the floor. The switch is kinda adjustable.
