Re-routing your intake system

Has anybody re-routed there intake system on an S197? I wanna my system to breathe cooler air, so I'm considering placing it just behind my front bumper to get it out from under the super heated air in the hood. Please help, or give me any advice you have. I think this would be of great benefit for alll S197 owners.

It's been done before with different results. The most common way I've seen it done was dremeling some of the closed of honey combs on the lower grill and then taping some ductwork (get it from Home Depot/Lowes) and routing it up to right under the CAI. My friend did this and it worked great for a while. Then he started noticing when he would do 2nd or 3rd gear pulls that his car would idle weird when thrown into neutral (at speed) and then just die. Turned at that it was ramming the air in and causing the problems.

He ended up taking the ram air system off and his car stopped the weird idling stuff that was going on with it when it was on.
