Last time the 1/4 and the back glass was done was in January 2000. I have notices some slight bubbling and fading. The tint was SunGard and was quality, but has seen its share of the sun I guess.

I called the guy that did it last time. He said that SunGard has gone out of business, so any warranties that they had are null. It didn't have a warranty on fade, but it did on adhesive. He offered to remove the old and put on Limo (dark) that would have a lifetime no-fade warranty for $125-150. I called one other place and they would do it for $150, but would charge $60 an hr to remove the old. I'm sticking with the origal guy since I know he did a good job doing it. Not his fault the tint didn't last.

Probably will do it next Wednesday.

$125 - $150 is a good deal considering he's removing the old stuff. Post pics when you have them.

You know I will.... I love to post pics

Leaving the side windows alone, they were tinted probably 5 yrs ago with 35%. In Illinois, any front side window tint is illegal, except behind the driver. Its probably faded down some, but still looks good, no bubbles.

Well, the tint turned out good, but I had to do some extra work on where the tint was taken off. They guy let some of the "juice" ooze out and get on the plastic panels in the rear hatch. I had to use Simple Green and brush the plastic to get it to even out before applying protectant. It was a pain. I probably would have had the same thing happen if I had removed the tint too, but who knows.

Just for future reference, all's you's needses for removing old tint is a razor blade scraper, a 10-pack of razor blades, a roll of blue shop towels, and a bottle of cheap Windex-type window cleaner with ammonia. Strips that crap right offa dere, yo.

Bah ... rear defrost is for the unadventurous. Nothing makes for an exciting and challenging morning commute like a fogged/frosted-over rear window without functional rear defrost!

The only thing you need to remove tint is a Maglite, I heard that the storm troopers... I mean, cops around here will scrape the front tint off with their flashlights.

Thanks guys!

Yea, I haven't got hassled in my little town ever. The side windows are only 35% and look a lot darker in the pics than they really are.

Yea, I really like the garage. I wash it outside then pull it in to dry and wax it.

Taking it to an all Ford Car Show Sunday in Effingham Illinois. Will either enter 74-93 stock or 74-93 modified. Should bring home another trophy, I hope.

If you park in the garage there is no such thing as frost or fog

I did have some heavy dew the other morning when I left work and had to use the defroster

The cool part is all the defroster lines work, except the ones that stopped working 15 yrs ago when Ford "fixed" them.

Don't forget mine does still have daily driver status, so those creature comforts are nice to have still.

Brought home 1st place at last show. It was classed out 74-93 modified stang.
