Just finished up a turbo coupe brake swap on my 89 mustang with stock length axles. I though I would post some usefully info to save you some time and money.
Starting at the front of the car. If you use a master cylinder from a 95 mustang you will need the reservoir also they are not interchangeable.
The brake booster install form a 95 will take time and Patchiness’. Plan at least a day to complete the booster and master cylinder swap. If the motor is out of the car it will make it a lot easier.
I used the proportion valve from summit part # SUM-G3905.
Ford plug for gutting stock purporting valve part # FMS-M-2450-A
I put hawk brake pads in the front with 73mm calipers part # HWK-HB125F-650.
The parking brake handle will have to be modified. Here is a link that will explain http://www.mustangcentral.net/tech/brake.html
you will need new parking brake cables 1 part # FMS-M-2810-A and two part # M-2809-A. Summit sells both.
I used motor sports brackets that were cut and fit over the axle. If you don't what to cut and fabricate you can buy other brackets. Link http://www.northracecars.com/catalog/brakes/brakes.htm
I did have to shim the brake brackets inward a 1/4". Witch makes me wonder if I would have used the North racecars brackes. I may have had to machine off the 1/4 ". BTW I have superior axles and an auburn locker.
Brake lines
if you are going bend the stock lines to fit no cutting and flaring you need 2 parts # 7818 weather head break fittings form Napa. They will convert the factory 3/16 fitting to the brake hose fitting.
Or for 30 dollars 40 for ss lines and a much nicer look. Classictubing.com makes the lines for the swap. You have to call them and ask for the M-2300 conversion lines for an 87-93 mustang. When I talk with them it takes 10 + days for you to see the lines so order in advance.
Brake hoses
You will need rear brake hoses from a 95 mustang GT. I ordered the ones from a 87 Thunderbird 2.3l turbo coupe and they were wrong.
