Status: offline you guys are crazy, the 87-93 5.0 stangs had, 225hp, not 160. they would and will outrun anytruck stock for stock by an assload short of a lightning or a srt10, this is a stupid thread, you guys think your doing something by almost outrunning a v6 stang, those had 150hp, big ****in deal guys!!! and no if a stang runs hot it will not warp, ive built alot of these engines, and no its not gonna happen, that tech guy is an asshat. Ive had a dodge ram with the 318 in it, and it sucked balls, anyone of my 5.0s (5) would murder one stock, you guys are comparing a sports car to a truck, and it makes no sense!!!
I've driven plenty of 318 dodges, along with plenty of turd 5L's and depending on the condition of each it would depend.
I've been in some 5L's that were so slow I wanted to pull the 5L badge off of the side of the car. Those were bone stock AOD with a 2.73 gear in the rear, stock timing, so-forth.
I just wonder why so many look at mustangs as a chick car?
People ask me whats the 7.5 fender badge for, i tell them its my 0-60 time. Don't get me wrong i don't play favorites, i own 3 icons of the old big 3. Would i buy a 4th gen. F-body (LTX or LSX) over a mustang, sure would (unless its an 03-04 cobra). I've met a lot of cocky mustang and camaro/firebird owners too, depends on what i'm driving is what personality i'm in lol. Cocky mustang driver's get their asses handed to them by my LT4 Z28 and cocky camaro drivers don't know why they just got blown away with an old foxbody with 7.5 fender badges and a big hood
BTW, i bought my truck for a winter driver, owned it a year and the tranny needs a rebuild already, 2nd gen ram trannies blow chunks. Man would i love to get a hold of a 1500 4x4 ram reg. cab shortbed with a cummins and a 5 speed, with some work, they do beat some sports cars lol.
