Just curious how much i'd spend to swap to a GOOD aod set up? Anyone with built aod's wanna post links to companies that build killer reliable automatics?

Obviously I could sell my 5 spd set up to put towards the auto if I went that route. I have practically the best of everything (tko, aluminum flywheel, sfi bell ect)

Just something i'm thinking of. I been thinking about the idea of going the automatic route with a killer converter and full manual VB. This would be for a street car thats raced on the street and track. Need something that can handle 400+hp and 7000 rpm's.

Hey bud...we have communicated quite a bit because of how similar our combos are. I am actually in the process of cenverting to a c-4.

I am under the impression that if you are gonna do it...do it once...thats why I am going with a c-4. Its a little more expensive but I dont think I'll ever be able to break it. I say spend the money.

As for a breakdown of cost...it really depends on which way you go.
A flexplate is at least $250...shifter is $180-300
A converter can be anywhere from $300-$900.

I'll let you know when I am done.

The converter I need looks like its gonna be around 9 bills....OUCH!

What are you building?

A C4 isn't happening in my car. I have 4.30 gears so I need the overdrive for highway cruising. If I had 3.55's a C4 might work but i'd have to see if they were enough gear for the combo which I doubt they would be.

My car is a track car...I am gonna put 4.88's in the rear with the c-4. I am building a new top end...new cam, intake, and heads...I should see around 8K rpm shift points!
