After I had my gears installed last year my brake pedal would pulse when slowing down. The abs light never came on except for when Id go on the freeway it would pop on. But driving around town it never came on.

Ive since pulled the abs fuse to stop the pedal from pulsing. I just want to make sure that the rear abs sensors can be damaged from swapping gears? The car never had the problem before the gears were put in.

Hmmm, I would imagine while pulling the axle when changing the gears that the speed sensor/abs could get damaged. The sensor is analog b/c of the teeth it reads on the axle w/the magnet. So if it is not positioned just right, the sensor would give a false reading. Look back there to see if your sensors are not positioned the same on both sides. The sensor, like any other sensor on the car, does go bad. Is your brake dust shield bent. Look for clues around the sensor. If things around the sensor are damaged more then likely the sensor could have damaged, by mistake of course.

Just from looking at the pics in the parts catalog, I would say yes. But, before you invest, go to autozone to see if the two cars share the same part number, if not then you have your answer. Best of Luck!

Yes they can. Actually a fairly common problem during gear swaps. The axles must be pushed in to remove the C-clips. This cannot be done until the abs sensor is removed.

Some people start hammering on the axles trying to get the c-clips out not realizing the abs sensor is preventing them from being pushed in far enough.
