I was changing the rear diff. cover the other day (I think someone at the stealership used a jack there and folded the lip over causing a leak) and while the car was up I spun the rear wheels and noticed a scraping sound coming from the brake area. I don't know for certain but it sounds like the brakes are dragging slightly. I did this with the diff. cover off and the noise was definitely not coming from the diff. area. The front tires spin silently. There appears to be more drag in the rear tires when compared to the fronts. I don't know how to measure drag and am just "eyeballing" the rotations per spin (by hand). I would think the rear tires would have more drag under normal conditions (brakes not dragging) because of the differential and the driveshaft when compared to the fronts. I can't hear the scraping when I am driving.
Is this normal? Can this be adjusted without special tools or should I take it to a shop?
Thanks
