I have a 98 gt 5spd with aftermarket 4.10's. Other than that the rearend is completely stock at 72k miles. A while back when I decided to floor the car out of first I roasted the tires real good, and I felt the rear end jerk. After that one incident the rear end doesnt seem to be riding very smoothly. It hesitates sometimes when I give it too much gas(from the rear end I can tell,) and if I floor it I get that jerk feeling everytime. What should I be looking for if something is damaged back there? I was thinking maybe some of the teeth got chipped somehow in the gears, but that is just a wide assumption.

Any help is appreciated,

Karl

When was the last time you changed the differential fluid ? If its low, add some. If its been longer than 25-30k miles, I'de go ahead, change it, and add some friction modifier. If you changed it not long ago, and its full, add another bottle of friction modifier to it and see if that doesnt clear things up. If it doesnt clear up then, you might have the differential blowing out.
