rear end help?!?!?!?

well im reaubild the whole rear of my car and i have hearfd of people having the axle tubes welded to the center section. is this necesary for a car that will only go mid 12's? also will welding the torque boxes be good enough or will i need reinforcements? i plan to only run drag radials. can you guys help me out?

I can't really speak for the welding of the center section. I can see it's benifits though.

For the torque boxes: You can go to eBay and search for 'torque box reinforcments' and you should get some results. Also, someone on Stangnet makes their own. You will need to weld up your boxes or have the reinforcments installed so that you don't destroy your rear end after consistantly hard launches at the track.
