Rear end please help

Does any one know what year mustang gt I can go up to to pull a rear end off and upgrade mine I have a 96 mustang gt I think mine is 273 gears what year will fit in mine without modifications please let me know

Ok I found out that only 96-98 will work for mine know what if I get a rear end out of a 98 cobra will it fit and what size rear end gears did cobra have

Try this. Go to car-part.com and search for the part in question. See what other "applications" come up. This will give you an idea of what other cars will interchange with the part being searched for.

Regarding what ratio. It is possible to rebuild a Ford 8.8 rear end with virtually any ring and pinion ratio desired.

'98 Cobra had 3.27 ratio IIRC and I believe most if not all had ABS. Same rear end as the GT, '99 Cobra first year with IRS.
Good advice above.

So this should fit in 96 mustang gt without any mods

Yes it should, the only difference between the two suspensions is the spring rates and sway bar sizes. Driveshafts are interchangeable.
