What is the length difference between a fox rear, and say a SN 95?

Are the upper/lower mount points still in the same location.? I actually am looking for a rear that is an 1-1/4-3/8" longer on each side over the stock fox length rear.

94-98 would be 3/4" wider each side

99-04 would be 1.25" wider each side

Both feature the same disk brakes but the 99-04 had a housing that is 3/4" wider each side. The mounting holes for the control arms are different as well. Gotta use the roght size bolts or will have issues. In other words it's not a 100% direct bolt in, but can be done.

Woth the 94-98 rears, the housing is the same and the extra width is due to longer axle shafts for the disk brakes.

Great! So you're saying that a 99-04 rear is the length I need (will already have disc brakes) and I'll only have to modify hole size on the upper/lower control arm mount points? The control arm intersect points are the same?

Can I use like a different bushing kit? and will it fix the fox control arms after I press the old ones out?

It's possible? I don't know

The major difference is the bolts that are used. 86-98 uses 12mm bolts while 99-04 use 14mm bolts.

So if the control arms use 12mm bolts, but the housing has holes for 14mm bolts, then there is some play in where the arms bolt to the housing.

I don't know what arms you have, but it might be possible to use bushings for the 14mm bolts.

You might want tomsearch to see if anyone has put a 99-04 rear in a fox.

Another difference is the rear lacks brake lines, you'll have to transfer the lines from your current rear.


Another option is to install 84-86 SVO or 84-90 Lincoln mark 7 rear disks. They will fit your current housing, and add 1.5" to each side. Downside is they are a massive rear brake setup and need good front brakes to avoid a brake bias mismatch
