I don't think i'd sell it though. My dad was killed 5 years ago, and I used the little money I got from the lawsuit to get that car. It's my baby.

Buy used parts and try to do as much of the work yourself as you can. all in all after searching ebay and classifieds you could prolly put that together for about 500-700 in parts and an extra 200 for paint. Almost forgot, if there is any question of frame damage have it pulled at a local shop after removing the panels, only costs about a hundred bucks.

Just one more reason why Mustangs don't belong on the road when there is snow on the ground, or even when the pavement is cold for that matter. I know it wasn't your fault but still...........

hehe, there wasn't snow on the ground wednesday morning here in OK when I was hit. it was raining a bit but it cut out after an hour. it started snowing thursday night and there's been ice everywhere since then.

I've had it out at my buddy's impound since then. It's drivable and starts now that I reset the inertia switch, but the exhaust is mangled... hitting the tire / driveshaft

post picks of under the hood to see if the frame is bent. This would be a good time to upgrae some stuff with the repair money. You can get a nice hood and some smoked tails

I was gonna go with 5-lug and suspension when i fix the body work. I'm gonna have to pry the hood off to get under it. That's definitely one of my concerns.

Something that needs to be mentioned.....

It is of my opinion that when your car is damaged at the fault of someone else....they need to fix it and fix right. Book value means shat!! That's what insurance is for...oh wait...insurance is for some jack-nut to sit on his ass and get fat and deny a claim that should be paid.

If the old ladies adjuster tells you the car is totaled, tell him/her that you need to settle on a price for them to BUY the car..net settle for some stupid amount below what it's worth. Get estimates for correct repair and tell the adjuster.."here's what it will cost to fix it and this (insert name of shop here) is the shop I'm taking it to"!
and do not sign anything untill you are satisfied with everything...get a lawyer if needed...**looks for what's his name the stangnet lawyer friend**
sorry for rant insurance companies piss me off...

I was a passenger in a truck when a suburban pulled out infront of us, and we t-boned them. The insurance person tried to only give me my lost wages + $60 lol. I was comming from working on my buddys mustang, and had my tools in the bed of the truck... Toolbox got smashed up, torque wrench needed to be recaliberated, cordless drill smashed up... And not to mention the fact that I was doped up for 5 days, unable to work on my stang!

I'm still fighting a month and a half later... they are willing to pay for m wages, and tools... But jack **** for pain. Not to sound like a scam artist, but even though my doctors say my back is okay, man it still hurts when it gets cold.

But yea, fight the insurance people. If you don't want it totaled out, don't let them. Tell them you want the car fixed, and fixed right. They will try to hassle you, but you don't have to settle for a totaled out car.
