Hey guys it has been a long while since I have been on, but I have finally got my new goodies so I got the car apart again. I was wondering if anybody knows any tricks to getting the rubber bushings the shackles go through that attach to the body, out? I have tried pounding on them, but no luck. I used a hydraulic press to get them out of my new leafs and install the new del alums, but no idea how to get the ones on the frame out.

Huh? The OE shackle bushings are a chunk of rubber donut stuck into a steel tube in the frame. Sometimes they stick pretty well, just jab a screwdriver into them and pry them out. The steel tube, of course, is welded to the frame.

Oh okay so the steel tube will stay in there, I thought they were one piece, kinda like the front eye bushings.

Got em out, I thought they were a one piece bushing, didn't realize it was two. Prying worked a lot easier than trying to pound in that mushroomed head. Now to get these del alums in there!
