There are mounting holes for what looks to be rear axle supports on either side of my 89 LX 5.0L, it appears a bar or "mini type shock" would bolt to the top of the axle and then to the body/frame.I think i may of read somewhere that GT cars come equiped with these and was wondering if they were stock on LX's as well?Im not sure what they are even called--"stabilizer bars"?They are missing off my car, maybe previous owner removed for tire clearance OR they were never an option.Ive noticed my 4 cyl parts car and 93 LX hb 2.3L dont have them but the mounting holes are present.Any info plz?

Those are "quad shock" mounts.

All 1986+ V8 5.0 Mustangs had them....LX or GT.

A lot of people ditch them for tire clearance. Problem is sometimes you can get wheelhop without them. If you car is fine with wheelhop, you can leave them off with no probs. However if you start getting hop, you might want to put them back on

quad shocks

wow nice clear picture and yeah thats exactly what i was asking about -thanks so much for providing pic to! Havent had any wheel hop probs to speak of but it just bugs me to not have them on there if they came like that from factory hehe.Ill probly round some up and try em back on.

Autozone sells decent ones made by Gabriel. They are listed under "Steering dampeners" on their computer.

About $25 each and you'll have to special order them.
