Rear tire question - Is larger better?

It's time to buy new rear tires,
I like the look of the older muscle cars with the high backs. This is what I'm thinking of.
Front 245 45 17
Rear 275 50 17
This will raise the rear about 1 1/4"
I'm concern that it may create an ABS error. Is that possible or are there any other negatives I haven't thought of.
Anybody running larger rear tires? pictures?

If you are running stock suspension (springs) then I would guess that you could run up to a 28" diameter tire in the rear. You won't get an ABS error. The ABS ring is on the axle and the sensor is on the brake bracket. Things to do: get a new speedo gear and I would get a set of stronger 28spline axle shafts (Superior, Moser, or Strange). Might want to take your car to a tire specialty shop and have them measure inside your wheel well to see just how big you can go. I would think a 275 would be the widest without rubbing. That's all I can think of.

A couple other things about running taller tires is

You will feel a loss of acceleration if you move to a tire that is 1.5 to 2.0 inches taller

The larger tire will take more hp & tq to turn it
