I have a 99 cobra with a vortech on it. i took it to a tuner the other day and he told me that he could get 450 out of the rear wheels. everything is stock on the car except for the vortech and 38# injectors. first of all do you think the tuner can safely actually get 450 out of the rear wheels. and second of all i just order some nitto drag radials 275/40-17. is my stock rearend goind to be able to take the 450 at the rear wheels.

If it's an S-trim...you should be able to get that power. I'm at 500+RWHP.
IRS, if you can get the tires to hook, will break eventually. Hooking will be pretty difficult with just a Nitto out back.

I eventually went to a solid....love it.

mike99cobra:
That's a bunch of crap.

You can break a rear end stock without really trying too hard..
450 isn't ridiculous power......just don't do 4,000 RPM launches.

I would be more worried about your trasmission. I have over 400 ft lbs. of torque and my rearend is stock. it's a 94 cobra with 3.08
