To answer you question in one word......No.

Some Ford pickups were equipped with the 8.8 rear end (the number 7.5 or 8.8 refers to the diameter of the ring gear in inches).

The truck axle would be WAY to wide, the suspension is entirely different (leaf spring in the truck vs. 4-link in the Mustang), the wheel bolt pattern is different, the brakes are much bigger, and the pinion yoke would not work either.

Your best bet is to find an 8.8 out of a wrecked 87-93 5.0 in a junkyard and rebuild it with gears of your choice.

Hope this helps!

If by some chance you live in MA, I have an 8.8 in my garage with blown gears that I'll sell cheap. The axles are good, and it's prime for a 3.73 buildup. Only thing it needs besides gears is a diff cover, because that broke when the gears blew.

Thanks alot guys. i dident think it would work but id thought id ask to make sure. I live in canada, and it seems to be a bad place for mustang parts, there is nothing around at all. so its pretty hard to get anything. even all the wreck yards have no mustangs in em. later
