Hi all,
I have a set of stock (19 lb) fuel injectors (1989). What parts on them can be replaced? I read that each one has a little filter inside, is that true? Does anyone know if they sell 'kits' to rebuild the injectors?

Thanks,
Paul

I've heard the screens are replaceable on some injectors, not sure about ours.

I know you can send injectors out to get the professionally cleaned and flow tested to make sure they're "as good as new", but the prices I've seen for that service are damn near as much as a new set of injectors.

What's wrong with yours? Are they leaking or something, or just have a lot of miles?

Man, honestly, just get you a new set of injectors and save yourself in the longrun. You can get some smooth flowing one and a very low price from summit... not the summit ones though but save yourself before you end up spending more for what you were looking to get out of your old tired injectors

The problem is that I dont know if they are OK or not. They were on a 1989 engine that I purchased in 1998 that had 68K miles on it. I converted the engine to a carb setup at thet time. Now Im converting the engine back to EFI and the injectors have just sat at least since 1998 - perhaps longer as I dont know how long the engine sat before I purchased it. So I figured it would be a good idea the rebuild them and make sure they were ready before I installed them.

The GSX-R bikes all make so much sense as a road bike and certainly perform in AMA Superbike - between Ben Spies and Mat Mladin the #1 plate has been on a Suzuki for years.

Cool road bikes too. Tractable power and cat-on-a-rug handling in the twisties. If they just had soul...

You can replace the caps and o rings. Available at pepboys, they are a borgwarner part, so don't worry.
Like $2 an injector.

Warm the pintle caps up before you put them on, because if you don't you will crack them.

There is a guy on ebay, I believe that he is called Mr Injector, that sells complete kits with Oring, spacers, pintle caps and filters. I rebuilt the ones in my 93 about a year ago and it cost me around $15 then but they are up to around $17 now.
