rebuilding motor!

contimplating rebuilding 153k mi motor. i have a set of edelbrock alum. heads with the 2.02/1.60 valves that i would like to build the motor around.

give me your guys/girls opinion on cam, 331 or 302, intake, etc. not really lookin for top end. im a off the line quick thrill seeker.

well of course if you have the money the 331 it being a stroker is gonna help ALOT with torque and from what i gather thats what your wanting. and as far as a cam goes... well i cant really say most of the cams i have delt with were great in mid range and top end but ive never really looked at making big low end power. hell the stock cam is great for torque.

If your planning on going w/ a 331 ide go w/ i higher rev cam... just my opinion. It would be another story if you had a smaller intake valve. Ide wanna utilize the high rpm head that youve got there, trust me ull appreciate it more when your car pulls all the way to 6k+ rpm. Its a pretty cool feeling. Youll make torq regaurdless w/ a 331 stroke...check out some of anderson ford motorsport's cams or the trickflow stage 2, or hell look into a custom cam.

Agreed. A 331 will give you a lot of low end grunt, and since your going n/a definetly up that compression. That will really help the low end. What little you will lose you will more than gain back on the mid-high range of the rpm band. I currently have my n torn apart and am looking at the same basic idea. 331 with 10.5-11:1 compression, already got a custom cam I might stick with, and the mods in sig. I am very happy with my custom cam from ed curtis, it's pretty nasty but the car ran great without tuning. Price was well worth it. Pm me if you want to get in contact with him, he's top notch.

all things are considered right now. still kinda up in the air though. i already have one mustang that has 400+ hp, so im not really wanting to go over the top.

here is what im thinking:

306, h beams, 10.1 comp pistons, alum. heads, r. rockers, e cam, bottom end intake. suggestions on manifold.

what rwhp am i looking at with this set up...300-315
