depends.....
depends on whether you are going to use what you already have or upgade some things like, Camshaft/Lifters/Springs.
depends on whether you are going to do any of it yourself or send it all out.
typically the block will need to be re-bored oversize. If so do it as little as possible. The machine shop can tell you how much it needs, and don't go any more than that.
If it needs over-boring then now you need new pistons to match the over-bore. Good time to upgrade to a Hyper or Forged pistons depending on what you plan on doing with the car.
Cylinder heads will need to be sent out to be cleaned up, and rebuilt (new springs, valve seals & valve guides "not knurled"). Get a 3 angle valve grind while you're at it.
The crank may need to be turned & polished.
Buy new bearings, new pistons rings, engine gasket set, use ARP rod bolts (cheap insurance).
Then start putting it all back together again.
Most important of all, if you plan on doing ANY of this yourself, buy the book by Tom Munroe "Rebuilding Your Small Block Ford" and follow it through step by step.
Tools you don't have can be rented.
