I have a 77mm Pro-M shorty MAF that's calibrated for my stock injectors. With my heads and cam going on, I'm putting in 30lb injectors. Is there ANY way I can get my MAF recalibrated WITHOUT sending it back to Pro-M? I really can't afford to be without my car for a couple weeks or however long it takes for them to recal it. Otherwise, I'm seriously thinking about buying a C&L kit for my 30's. Suggestions?

There's no sending it to Pro-M as they're outta business, granetelli will do it i think. Best bet is to probably just buy another and sell the one you have if you don't wanna be without. My .02 cents.

Actually some of Pro-M's ex-employees have brought it back with a new name. They have a website up saying they're doing recalibrations, but I'm at work and don't have the link right now. I think I might just buy this kit, but only as a last resort.

Well if u want to sacrafice driveability and tuneability then go with the C&L. If you want a really good MAF then be patient and send your MAF to get recalibrated.

I agree with John

The 77mm ProM has been around for years for good reason...................

Its really a quality maf. I'd recal it or replace it for another ProM.

btw......If you find a good deal on a ProM 80mm the electronics in it are the same as the 77, so it is just as accurate.

IMHO, the maf is so important to your tune that...well...I'd pass on a C & L

I think if nothing else, I'll throw on a C&L temporarily while the Pro-M gets recaled. There's no way I'm getting rid of it for good, not for a C&L anyway. But then I could just resell the C&L when I get the Pro-M back. Not as cost efficient, but probably the easiest (and better than bumping the fuel pressure). Thanks guys

Just so you know.. I sent my Pro-M 77mm to professional mass air systems on the 8th of June. They are located about 2 hours from me so they got it the next day. I have been waiting and waiting for this meter. I have called 2 or 3 times and each time am told that it is being flowed that day and it will be shipped that day. i sent a lengthy email the other night regarding it taking so long. They sent me an email last night with a tracking number scheduled for today (june 24). I have never used a c&l so I cant verify how they are. I would expect to wait a while on getting it back. However, I did use my stock maf (which ran like crap!) until I get my pro-m back.

question. i have the c&l kit(k&n,maf, and inlet tube). it came calibrated for the 24's. i thought that when you want to recal it you just change the cal tube. is that all i have to do to recal it? im not even thinking about getting bigger injectors but in the case i did would i have to send mine or just change the tube? thanks.

I just talked to the guy I bought the Pro-M from, and asked him about recalibrating it. He said he has a Mass air adjuster, that you plug into the MAF, and it gives you a digital readout of the MAF voltage and everything. He said you can plug it in, and recalibrate the MAF for whatever injectors you have. He said I could use it when I do my swap. He also said that's what he used when he had the Pro-M on his old setup with his 42lb injectors. Anybody ever hear of these?

Yeah its called a mass air optimizer. I called Pro-M back last summer about that. The guy told me that it does not work as well as recalibrating it. Unless he was trying to sell me a calibration. I thought it would work but he says you can still peg out the meter. I dont know if he was giving me a line of BS though.

I had that for a while after my swap but before my tweecer. it worked pretty good, driveability was good, and you can play with fuel mixture a little with it. But mine didnt always hole the adjustments well, and i do think that a full recalibration is the BEST way to go.

I've read on other sites that to get your pro-m recalibrated, been taking a while, I haven't had any problems w/c&l, but others have, if you want to stick w/the pro-m, I would just throw the stock meter on to get you bye, untile you get your pro-m recalibrated.

Unfortunately my stock MAF took a poopy on me. I still have it, but it's useless.
