i would think 6500rpm would be no problem for that combo.

6500 no problem, with that combo(depending on valve springs) 7000 is not out of the question

I did mine at 6500 for over a year. Now it's at 7,000 and holding just fine.

my other question is are patriot heads still problematic in another forum someone said he heard a lot of bad things about them

i was under the impression that they had improved on there product quality

and thxs for the repleys on the combo looks like i will be able to run the vortech to 6500-rpms no problem

+1, only thing stopping you from 7krpm would be springs if they aren't made for it

those springs sound pretty light for high rpm use,for comparsion, my crowers have 120 seat and around 250 open and 7000 is about their limit

I do 6400-6500 rpm shifts at the track all the time.

I have the mod 900 sb, stock heads and valve springs. with HP cams.

In May I'm with MMR stage 3 heads with SS OZ valves, Bronze guides. titanium retainers, and comp high load springs with 120lb seat pressure.

My et's and traps say I do. It was still climbing at 6200 at the dyno.. It just feels like it's still pulling.

Patriot heads are fine, they had issues a number of years ago but have since gotten better.

You biggest issue is the intake just isn't going to flow much up there. Its a big bottle neck. Get something else on there and you will pick up some nice gains.

thx god finally someone chimes in with a good exp about patroit heads

called mmr shortblock is being shipped out to my house today also call texas hotrods and they said next week heads should be shipped to them then out to me with my $200.00 refund because i payed for stage 3 heads but can only use the stg 2 heads because the block is not .20 over

also did some reading and the springs i have should hold up ok at 6500 rpms not sure just how good the springs that come with the heads are

ps a guy on mph forum is selling me a cobra fuel tank minus the pumps for 580.00 does that sound about rigth
