I was driving down the road and some redneck in a pickup truck turned into my left front fender, wheel and bumper. Got out of the car to exchange information with him and he backed up and drove off :bang: I got his license plate number and called the state police.. they showed up 1.5 hours later.. and said there wasn't much they could do! They wouldn't even run the plate! I then took it upon myself to have a cop friend of mine run the license number and discovered that the guy had prior hit and run cases already pending against him! Even the district county attorney said there wasn't much he could do either but I am still trying to file a lawsuit against the guy. Anyway...long story short, any reputable person on here have a stock front bumper for a 95 GT? Or a driver side fender they would sell? I am thinking about ordered a prepainted one off of Ebay. Any advice? I just had liability on my car and I can't afford to have it fixed at a body shop. Thanks, David

the guys sounds more like an oxygen thief than a redneck but if you live in kentucky you shoud know that 90% of the population there can't drive I only spent 4 months in kentucky and the very few times I was out driving around I saw personally how bad the drivers in your state are.
:D

that sucks man, good luck with finding parts
now that i think of it, i actually have a stock gt front bumper....im pretty sure its in good condition
what part of kentucky do you live in?

Topless, I am in Shelby Co. and had a similar incident happen. Just raise some hell and the State Police should help you out. It is a crime and thats supposed to be their job... I could maybe see their position if you didnt have a plate number, but since you do, they should at least follow up on it and pick up that shytstain for his previous warrants...

Depending on the officer and the department, some police are lazy asses...

go to the station, demand to file a report with an officer, have all the information on the guy written down and ready to go, write down the officer assigned to the case, and then call him/her every day about it until the guy is prosecuted. Besides the slash-his-tires method, that's the only way to make sure your interests are fairly represented. Whoever said the police don't want to file the paperwork on it is absolutely correct.

now, wait.. somethin about this just doesnt jive..
you say, the police have pervious hit and run records on the boy, and yet they wont do anything??

Another thing, true, .. the police can be a tad slow, but an hour and a half?.. common man.. I have family in law inforcement,.. I cant speak for every county.. but that is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too long.

Another point, if you can "prove" it.. he is responsible, to pay damaged,.. one way or another. press the issue,.. dont let the man walk scott free.

Odds are, if he left the scene, he didnt have insurance at all. wich,.. is a crime by itself.

So, you could hit him with , hit and run, uninsured motorist, leaving the scene of a crime...

Drop the hammer dude..
