Well its been awhile since I've been on here, I've been working on my h/c/i and fiberglass work the last 5 weeks and I'm glad to say its over. Here basically what I did:

AFR 165 Heads
FTI cam
Performer Intakes
76mm Maf
70mm TB
Mac Long tubes with custom side exhaust
24lb Injectors
190lph fuel pump
no smog/ no a/c
battery in the trunk, rerouted all the wiring
fiberglass fenders and painted the bay

Now for the pictures:

I'll get some final pictures with the upper and all the air tracking installed

Looks good to me, pics work fine. Nice job!

Agree :nice:

BTW, could you take a pic of your belt routing or something. I'm dropping the engine next week or so and I wanna bypass the smog.(already have the A/c out of there) I'm not trying to use a BYPASS kit. I just wanna re-route the belt. I "kinda" tried last summer to bypass the smog but it seems that its gonna hit right UNDER the IDLER pulley and OVER the WATERPUMP

Yes I've seen that site once. Thanks.

It seems very simple in the pic but there's like practicly no space between the waterpump and the idler, in reality. I got Mac pulleys, maybe thats why.

When I first tried it last year (and failed), I went like this :Over alternator, under idler, over P.S, over W.P, over crank, tensioner, alternator, etc.

I had like XX/thousands of an inch space between idler/waterpump with a very tight belt. We all know the belt stretch and would have hit after a couple minutes of running.

Very nice looking. Big improvement. Man I hate pictures like that. It makes me sick to look at my stock engine bay compared to a well-dressed one like that lol. Oh well maybe in a few years I will have the time/money/patience to do that...

Hey now, I'm in the same position, I should be starting college in 5 months but instead I am starting Wyotech in January. I am 18 years old, all it took was dedication, the forums, and working to get the cheese to pay for all of it. Good luck

P.S. the motor itself while looking dirty was pretty fresh looking internal wise, but the motor only had 78k when I pulled it. I can't wait to get it running. I had to get a new battery for it so I'm gonna play with it tomorrow after work.

How do I glass my engine bay? Is there a website I can go to that has instructions. I have noticed that a lot of people are fiberglassing their engine bay these days, mine could be comming out soon...
Any help out there?
