Remove heater core through glove box?

I've replaced one heater core before on my brother's car, which we believed had always been non A/C. However we were forced to remove the dash to get to it. I've heard someone mention on here that with non A/C cars you can get to it through the glove box. I recently purchased a non A/C stang which also needs a heater core. Now I'm wondering whether i can get to it without removing the dash. I suspect that perhaps my brother's car at one point had an A/C. In fact when we ordered the heater core for him, we asked for non A/C, and the heater core did not match. I guess I'm just hoping that if what I heard on here is true, I might be able to remove mine without all the trouble. Can someone confirm this?

I have two with ac and one w/o ac. The difference is night and day.

The non ac 82 heater core can be changed in an hour or so, under the dash. The glove box needs to come out to get access, but it's much easier. Pull that stuff, the hoses and covers, and out she comes.

The 79 and 89 with ac, have to have the dash pulled out to get the covers of the ac boxes.

Easy, obvious way to check, is if it had ac, it has ac fittings or openings for them, at the firewall, or a condenser up front.
