Removing altenator/ smog pump bracket

any special trick to getting this thing off? doing the powerdyne install as we speak and the damned bracket is being stuborn. do i have to take the tensioner off? the bolt right behind the tensionor is off as far as possible. do i just take a sledge to it or what?

i have no experience in removing this bracket but you have to remove the tensioner to get that bolt out.

thats probably whats holding you back

Yup tork bolt out of the tensioner then theres another bolt behind that holding the bracket on

Yep, the tensioner is held on with 1 t-50 torx bolt. Go to sears and get one that works with a 3/8 ratchet. It will last a long time, and it has many uses on your car. The seatbelts, etc....

The bracket has 3 bolts that bolt directly to the head. One is behind the tensioner, so you HAVE to take it off, no choice about it. It's really easy, so don't worry about it. Just mark the wires that you take off the alternator, and note how the hoses go on the smog pump.

lol you make the wires and hoses seem hard they can only go one way and theres only 1 hose
