Removing Smog Pump

Nope, the EGR is a separate system. Instead of crimping the tubing, you could remove it entirely and plug the holes in the back of your heads. Summitracing sells the plugs (I think TFS makes them).

I know a answer to this one since i just messed it up and re-did this EGR stuff. If you take the header tube out. IT WILL throw a CEL code. Leave the header tube and EGR alone.

Just remove the smog stuff and plug the back of the heads and white and orange vacuum lines.

Again. Unless you have plan to tune the car. leave the EGR or your car will stall every stop light.

:stupid: My EGR being bypassed was the entire cause of my annoying stalling issue.

There is another cheap way to plug the heads. take the tube off that bolts to the back of the head. Cut the tube off the brakets. Flip the brackets around and switch them side to side and use silicon. Putting plugs in would be better but this method will work.

I just ran a shorter baelt when I did mine. No need to buy a pulley. I did run ac though

And of course plug the vcaum lines like stated above.

I don't have cats but I have heard of some people having problems with them after smog pump removals.

Good luck

Sounds like the pain the ass method. Those plugs are dirt cheap, and you can actually but them at the Ford dealership.

Not what I experienced. I pulled all my smog stuff, plugged the heads and vacuum lines, and plugged the tube to the H-pipe. No problems at all with CEL. No problems stalling either.

Bolts with thread sealer closes up the heads just fine.

As far as the belt sizing goes, there's a couple of charts on this site and other places on the net, that give belt measurements for different configurations of accessories.
