Hey guys, Ive seen two cars already without tensioners. Just wondering do you need it? What would you have to do to remove it? I want my car to look like this.

You don't need it if you have another way of tightening the belt. In that picture, I'm guessing that rod mounting the alternator on the right side is adjustable, allowing you to tighten the belt like that. It's similar to tightening a belt on a V belt system by using the alternator.

Look at the March stuff at summit. they have a kit similar to that. But if you still have PS and A/C its gunna be pretty expensive. The alt/water/crank is cheap enough.

March is expensive though, you guys know where I can get it cheaper?
and anyone know what you would call that little rod? I dont know where to find it because I cant search for it. Will I need to move my alternator like shown in the march kit?

you mean at like home depot or like autozone? How do they connect to the ac and water pump exactly if their for different things? Just wondering. Where can I get one? Thanks.

like a performance shop....my friends race car has one for the throttle linkage, alt belt tensioner and something else....just need the lenght and eye size

Sure it looks good, but it doesn't self adjust like the stock idler pully. Not the best idea on a daily driver.

ehh the only good kit i see is the march kit and im not spendng 100 bucks for that. Thanks guys, not worth it though.

I deleted my tensioner last week when I installed the new alternator. I did cut the alternator bracket and had to make a small bend on the a/c one. I bought the tension rod at a local Tractor Supply store for around $7. Its adjustable and works really well, and easy. Here are some pics.

If you only have the alt, wp and crank then the tension rod doesn't look bad. If you have the ps/ac, the belt going from one side of the motor to the other with nothing to break it up looks wierd IMHO.
