I have a 95 GT and my orifice tube is leaking so I am just going to change the whole line. I was wondering if anyone bought the Factory Air Hose Advance Auto Parts: Hose by Factory Air - Part 56562 from Advance Auto Parts and if it was a direct replacement? This one contains both discharge and suction lines. I could just change liquid line, but it is not much more to just go ahead and change both of them. I think they just screw into the accumulator on one side, but I am not really sure. Any thoughts or other recommendations of products you have tried would be great.

The lines are attached via a connection known as a "quick disconnect" which is in fact, the biggest misnomer of all time. You need to get a quick disconnect tool in order to seperate the lines. You might also want to brush up on the urban dictionary so that you have an adequate vocabulary of swear words prior to starting. You don't want to bore yourself with the same four letter words over and over again.

I know all about quick connects. I have the whole set. This is not my first encounter with the ac. When I first got the car it didn't have a compressor. So I had a few choice words for installing that since I was by myself when I changed it. I had it charged and it last about 6 months before the orfice tube went bad. However, I recently worked on my husband's sonoma and I had more choice words for the GM than any of my mustangs. Thanks for the info. I am just not sure if I should spend the extra 40-50 bucks to change both lines or just change the one containing the orfice tube, which is where the problem is.

So true! There's nothing quick about them, unless you count how quick they make you swear at them.

Must be like the day i did my fuel pump... I didnt have cool tools... I stuck a bunch of tooth picks in the tabs and just pulled really fast LOL :rlaugh:

I think I have a whole set of speciality tools for just the mustangs. It was very interesting the first time we changed the rear brake pads on my 02, which I no longer have. I traded it for the bullitt I currently have. Anyway my husband must have cruised and carried on for a couple hours before we realized that you needed a special tool to screw the calipers in vs using c claps like every other vehicle. So we went to auto zone and bought the universal cube only to find out none of the slots fit the mustang. When all else fails make your own tool. We had to grind two of the tits off on side with 4 and now I have a tool just for the stang brakes. You can also use needle nose pliers, but I think that causes more cursing and possible hand injury than with the cube. So you see we live, learn, and continue to modify our stangs. I love the forums because all you have to do is post and I am sure someone has had the same problem and can tell you what not to do. LOL!!!!!!!!

I did the exact same thing about 10 years ago and still have it/use it. I even tried needle nose pliers first along with the cursing and hand injurys....lol

I did the exact same thing. Only I would consider them more like nipples than tits.

As far as the discharge line goes, It doesn't brake frequently. Weather or not you want to change it is up to you.
