I had a lot of luck with Meguiar's Plastic Cleaner & Plastic Polish. Mine was scratched too, but these two products cleared it up to nearly new condition.
Or www.50resto.com carries the replacement part for $29.95 - http://secure.50resto.com/product1.cfm?SID=1&Product_ID=374

Damn...I mean darn (sorry Jesus) That's cheap thru the dealer. I wonder how difficult it is to replace.
I spent like $12 bucks on two bottles of Meguiars plastic cleaning and polishing stuff.

i wanted to do the same on my 98, but it was cemented to the rest of the bezel and i ended up breaking it when i was taking it off. I ordered a new window and bezel off ebay for 20 bucks. I'd check there first before the dealer.

LOL (in a sympathetic way...) This bugs me too. I've tried to be so careful when dusting the interior but even the lightest passes with a Swiffer leaves marks. I think next time I'll just hook up the air compressor and blow the dust off the thing. If it gets too bad I'll just go to the dealer.

Blu02, got a Ford partnumber handy for that part?

It's a bitch to replace. I ordered mirror finish gauge inserts from UPR, and had to take off the plastic. It is glued on all around, and to remove, you can use a Dremel tool, in my case, I had to use a hack saw to separate it from the cluster. If it bothers you that much, replace the whole thing. To me it's not worth the trouble to sit there for hours trying to separate it.
