Hey guys,

I need some help w/ a distributor problem:

Last night my son (My70Stang) thought he would run up to the Saturday Night Pavillions cruise-in with his '70 Mustang along with his buddy Alex and his '72 Chevelle. After a thorough cleaning he realized he got some water in the Accel street billet 52201 distributor and the car wouldn't keep running. After a while it wouldn't run at all. They locked it up and took off in the Chevelle for the evening.

This morning we dug in, and I've checked everything and even went as far as replacing the coil to an MSD Blaster 2 (we had wanted to upgrade it anyway) but it still has no spark at the plugs. The cap and rotor are fine and the coil is generating spark. I removed the circuit board and pickup and low and behold the transistor and some of the other components on the accel "41269 rev A" circuit board look as though they are fried. I can find replacement parts including the rotor, cap, gear and magnetic pickup through Summit, but they don't appear to offer the circuit board.

So, my question is; does anyone know where I can find a replacement circuit board for a Accel 52201 Street Billet distributor?

Thanks Guys!!!

Top view - no apparent damage here...

But underneath is a different story - there is damage on the inside of the black piece as well, where the transistor mounts, but I could not get a clear enough picture of that to post...

Barnstang,

Thanks man!!! I searched on 52201 and on 41269 and couldn't find anything but that looks spot on. I submitted a tech question to accel earlier today so by tomorrow morning they should be able to verify this part #.

I guess I was just not looking in the right spot. I was starting to think I would have to buy a whole new distributor.

Thanks again!!!!

Tom
