Replacing 89 Convertible Top With Frame

I'm new to the forum. I just purchased a 89 GT vert, which has a trashed top with a cracked top frame. I founded a 89 top frame with a good top. It looks like swapping out the whole top with the frame is not to hard but I'm looking for any advice or good links anyone may have on this.

I can only say this. If you have to buy a top and your luck is anything like mine. Get a top locally. Im that guy that bought a top off ebay and cut the old one off in the winter time, to find out it was the wrong one. Snow and no top dont mix. So I lost $200 on the ebay top (before they had paypal) and $400 on one locally. Ya,,,, dont do that... And ya, im still kicking myself in the balls for that one.

I found one locally with a top that was only a year old, just have to put it on now. Did you keep it folded, bolt it up, and let the motor close it or manually close it and then attach the lift cylinders?

I've replaced the entire top and frame assembly before. Not too hard at all just takes time.

saw a guy pull one in the salvage yard last year. took him about an hour. then he heads out to the parking lot and starts the install right there! i left before he was done so no time for install here.
