Off the bat, no this isn't for HP gains...

My car has always idled relatively high...(I've never seen it idel below 1000k). For a long time now it has also surged up and down at idle. I already replaced the IAC w/ a new motorcraft one, replaced the TPS, replaced o2 sensors, changed plugs and COPs.

I have a BBK CAI and an aftermarket TB (I don't remember the manufacturer though)

As I said the idle has been an issue for a long time, and it smells like it's running rich. Off and on I get a lean condition SES light. Well last night when I pulled into my neighborhood it kinda started bucking in 2nd gear...and the SES light came on about 10 minutes before.

What I'm thinking is that the MAF isn't pulling enough fuel because it thinks the mixture is always lean when it's not really. I have attempted to clean this a long time ago, but I'm wondering if I used too strong of a cleaner and damaged it...(I did this to a MAF in my Lexus before)

I'm cool with replacing the MAF (for peace of mind if anything) but Is there any brand that's OK other than Motorcraft? Any suggestions otherwise? Thanks!

I would clean it with brakeleen or rubbing alcohol. They do get black soot on them that can cause sputtering. I would look into the TPS again. You said it's an A.M. T-body, so that might cause your idle issue. Did you do something as simple as check the idle set screw?
