Did a search and came up with these threads:

windshield molding
Windshield molding?

But, neither had a definitive answer & the Service Manual is a bit ambiguous too ... the question is, do you have to remove the windshield to replace the rubber trim (Ford P/N F4ZZ-6303144-BAM) that is around the windshield?

As seen in the pic below, mine has decided to split for some reason and is looking pretty tacky.

I think you have to remove the windshield to get that piece changed.

So I think I got the answer I needed ... This youtube vid helped:

Day 5 Mustang Cobra Project Ford SVT new windshield - YouTube

First hint, if you watch closely, is you'll see the new windshield with the rubber molding already attached. So I contacted Safelite and got this response:

the moldings would come attached to the new windshield

So the answer is (for anyone else who searches for this) ... you can purchase & install replacement molding, but'll you'll have to remove the windshield to do so.

I would not go with a big company like that. They charge way too much.

There's a small company around me that will come to your house and install for $100. Looks great afterwards too.

I need a windshield seal for a 2004 Mustang GT. I have spent the majority of today shopping on-line and cannot find anything for a hardtop. Only thing I have seen available is for a convertible. The car is in paint, and my paint guy is telling me that we need one ASAP. Can someone please help?!

Have a local glass shop quote a windshield remove-and-reset with EP330153/F4ZZ-6303144-BAM-equivalent molding. If the existing windshield has much pitting, replacing the glass with new molding may cost little more than risking breakage during removal.
