I'm restoring the 10 holes on my car and have a few questions. I've already taken the clearcoat off the wheels and want to know if I can "polish" the wheels to look almost chrome like. If so can I sand these to get the "look"? How do I go about doing this, by hand or with a sander (orbital) ? I want to polish these before I reclearcoat them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Drifter

If you decide to use sandpaper then use wet sand paper. Start with like 800 grit and work your way to 4000.

I wouldn't recommend it though. Get some Mothers and a few different size and sahped buffing pads for both hand use and drill head use to work up the shine that way. Also... do a thread search for "10 Hole". I seem to remember some pretty good tips in that thread and some pics too.

Edit: Here's the thread
