I’ve got a 1994 ford mustang gt it idles fine right around 750-800 but when I drive it I have pretty bad rev hang tried a restrictor plate (small side toward the motor) but it only made it run choppier, any advice on what to do?
I should have said it ran rougher not choppier when I did the restrictor plate I see how that could get confused with something elseStock
I take it everything was fine and at some point it started acting up, accurate?
check plugs, look for vacuum
Some what when I first got the car it started to hang rpms only when shifting to 5th then eventually every gear then I deleted the egr and smog but rev hang was still there got a chip that deleted my egr functions but my idle was effected drastically but the rev hang stopped so I put the egr back on and removed the chip and my idle improved but the rev hang came backI take it everything was fine and at some point it started acting up, accurate?
check plugs, look for vacuum leaks
Plugs are less than 10,000 miles old vacuum was 22hg when I tested when I had the egr off will test now since I have the car practically back to stock nowSome what when I first got the car it started to hang rpms only when shifting to 5th then eventually every gear then I deleted the egr and smog but rev hang was still there got a chip that deleted my egr functions but my idle was effected drastically but the rev hang stopped so I put the egr back on and removed the chip and my idle improved but the rev hang came back
