Ride quality liars!!

not really, but I have a pro-kit on for about a year now and it dam sure doesn't "ride like factory". I have new shocks and many aftermarket rear suspension parts. Do you guys with the H&R SS and the sportines ride much rougher than 1 - 1.5" drops? I saw a stang with the super sport H&R's today and fell in love. If it doesn't ride much more rougher than mine I'm down for it.

The car rides like a shopping cart sometimes, trying to do somethings that make it ride a little smoother but not lose that bite that my car has...I like to race at the track sometimes but also drive downtown. Maybe a tire with more sidewall like a 275/40/18? I know that's the epic suspension battle but just curious that others have come up with. Maybe some pics would hep

I had Sportlines with Bilstiens and it was rough. I have the Eibach Pro kit with the shocks/struts now and the car rides WAY better than before and 10X better than my 97 did when it was new. The handling is significantly better too

You probably should stick with what you have.
Higher spring rate and less travel = rougher ride

For a lowering spring the Eibach Pro Kit has excellent
ride quality what are you talking about?
You think your ride quality is bad now drop your mustang
two inches or more and the whole feel of you ride will go
down the toilet.

I have the Eibach pro kit with Tokico's and it rides great! you'll have to remember it's a mustang it's not going to ride like a Caddy

my mustang rides like crap. best way i can discribe it would be to say it rides like a rigid chopper. i think it is going to cause problems throughout if i keep it up haha. bbk specifics with stock dampers is definitely not the way to go. though the ride height is what i wanted it to be, it just rides too rough. even with 245/50/16's

i plan this summer to upgrade to the eibach pro kit (springs and dampers) with mm caster cambers and adjustable tierod ends. hopefully it will improve ride quality to the point where i wont think my car is going to shatter.

Eibach Pros with Tokicos are prolly the second best riding combo. The Eibach shocks when matched to the springs ride the best. Since I changed to 18" wheels my Bilstien/Steeda combo has unbelievable ride qualities now. Unfortunatly Bilstien is very proud of their product

I currently have Sportlines with bilsteins and it does not ride that bad to me. Its suprising smooth. It sure aint factory smooth, but when you turn the wheel, the car goes where you want it to haha. My old fox body had sportlines and that thing rode like a buck board! I rode in my friends ls1 ws6 with sportlines and bilstiens and that thing was a buck board! But I think mine rides good for what it is.

"Ride quality" is so subjective that it is impossible to "rank" different suspension setups like you all are trying to do.

What CobraRed said is true: if you're using a modified MacPherson strut suspension in the front and a solid axle out back, there's no way to get the car to ride like a Cadillac and carve corners like a Lotus. You are all driving Mustangs; you should expect them to ride like one!

A big part of ride quality is damper selection. The dampers you select need to be matched to the spring rates and suspension travel you will be running. I selected the Bilstein HD struts and shocks because Ford equipped the Terminators with those dampers, and I chose spring rates that are very close to those which came stock on the Terminators.

If you choose a very stiff spring, you need to choose dampers that are capable of dampening the motion of those stiff springs, otherwise the car will bounce around and feel unstable. Conversely, if you choose a relatively soft spring such as Ford's "B" springs, and couple them with a stiff damper, the suspension won't be able to articulate freely over undulations in the road, and the car will feel like it is skipping around over bumps.

I have the H& SS w/ Bilsteins and love it. I can feel the road more than stock and the car is much more responsive. Def not a caddy though.

Soo would the C-springs w/ these Total Tokico Front & Rear Strut/Shock Package - For 94-04 Mustangs - StangSuspension.com
be a good setup or what? I'm not the most keen on suspension setups

They would probably be fine. I, however, would recommend the Bilstein HD shocks and struts. If you can't afford them new, wait for somebody to sell them used on eBay.

+1 on the tokicos and the pro kit. i love the ride. its definitly stiffer than the low quality suspension tecnology in my old 3rd gen f-body. it cost me about $1300 to do it, and only $700 or so to my mustang, and the ford rides and handles a lot better the the gm
