Will I have problems if I get 17x9 rims for a 90 lx with a 5 lug swap? I am looking at some black FR500s. Any help would be appreciated!

NOPE, NOT AT ALL.

unless your tire is bigger than 265 45

if so we can still make it fit.

I fit a 18x10 rim on a 275/40/18.........

Thanks! I was told that Ford went with little bigger fenders after 91 and that I would have issues runnin 17x9 in the front on my 90.

very true. my '89 rubs a bit on full lock on the fender extensions with a 245/45 on 17x9's. rack limiters may help that problem, personally i just dont turn so far.

shouldnt have any problems in the rear unless you go bigger than a 275. up till then the only thing that may/may not be a problem is the quad shock, you may have to flip or remove it.

Yeah, i've got 17x8's and they rub on the inside at full lock in the front, otherwise there's nothing wrong.

I have seen 255 45 17 on a non lowered stang with not issues.

I would go with a agressive tire like 245/35

The important question here is WHICH 5-lug swap do you have??

If you have SN95 rear disks, you may have issues with 17x9's striking the fender lips over bumps

Is there a way to find out what 5 lug swap it is? I know it still has the drums in the back which will change soon

If it has drums you are all set.

What do you have on front?? If it's just the Mark 7 rotors, you may not even be able to run the FR500 up front. The center cap wont fit and you may have clearance issues with the snout of the rotor

They are Powerslot rotors with Hawk pads.

If they have the big hat on the center of the rotors, the rims will probably not fit. I am not familar with those rotors..I'll cross my fingers for ya

Most likely no. They may fit with a small 1/16" spacer though, but i hate spacers

Well then what are my options? I would rather not use spacers...

Any V6 wheel
94-95 GT 17" tribars
94-98 16" waffle stars
'95 Cobra R's
94-97 Cobra wheels

That's about it for direct bolt on wheels

What would I need if I wanted to run the FR500s? Just spacers?

Properly??? SN95 front brakes and spindles

The spacers may push 17x9's too far out. You'll have to test fit them really. It also depends on what brand wheel you purchase
