I am definately getting new wheels this year, however, the wheel size still has me with questions. Is anyone running with 17x10.5's rears on road courses? Do they rub? Did you have to modify your tail pipes to make 'em fit? etc... any info would help. Thanks.

You will probably need spacerasof at least 7/32. There is a lip on the inside you will have to massage and you may have to dimple the exhaust. I have 10.5's on my 94 Cobra with 315 drag radials and they do not rub. My car is lowered about 1 inch with 9 inch rims on the front. I would also have the 7/16 spacers on hand in case you need them. On track there is more movement of the rear suspension than on the street.

Thanks for the info Chuck, quick question for you...What lip, and how difficult was it to "massage"? Could you send me a pic when you get a chance? I want to see how those 315's look before I commit.

Nice car! I couldn't find a black top, so I had to settle.

I think he meant the rear fender inner lip, sometimes they will rub w/ lowered springs or when the suspension "hits" in a bump or turn. You can roll them with a wooden baseball bat on the edge of the tire, but I'd have someone who's done it before perform this.

I have fitted a 10" rim and 315 Nitto Drag on this car (no rub), and will be getting a 10.5" rim w/ the Nitto Drags, but they run small for their size. The car is not lowered and I drive very aggressively, (offramps, twisty roads, etc.) for reference.
