Rocker / Lifter knock.....

I am sure I have either a lifter or rocker knock. When the engine is fired up it ticks for 4 or 5 minutes then it quiets down. This engine does not have high OP it one of the few with a numbers on the OP gauge.

The gauge shows pressure around 20 to 40 psi. A bit low for my taste. Anyway I have not pulled the intake yet since the tick is on that side. I was wondering what other things I should do before pulling the rocker and or lifter.

I was thinking of running a engine cleaner like Rislon (sp?) and see if that clears up any thing 1st. Any ideas?

Drain your oil and run ATF in your car for about 30 minutes or so . . . works like a charm

Has the car been sitting?Sounds like you might have a lifter that maybe stuck or dragging a little bit upon start up then it works free.Could also have the wrong adjustment on the rockers and then once it warms up it might expand and take up the slack

No, the car is a daily driver and the rockers are the stock bolt down non-adjustable pedastal mount type.
