Rocker question with a link.

Hey All,

I just picked up a set of gt40 heads for my car. Can I straight up bolt these rockers in or do I need to do anything special to the heads? I'm searching around but i'm not 100% sure.

Any info would be great - i want to go 1.7 cause i'm keeping the stock cam. Thanks!

They will bolt in. There is a u shaped piece of metal that the stock rocker bases sit in that keeps them square with the valve that you will need to keep.
Other than that they are a bolt in swap.

I have heard a couple of stories about the proform rockers breaking but I have never experienced it.

you can get some good used rockers on corral for around that price shipped, sometimes never used. If you want something new though that wont help.

No i would definitely get used i don't mind. I just want something that is 1.7 and that i can just bolt on to my heads.

Keep an eye out, they've got crane rockers going on ther all the time.

Its not easy if you are rushed though, I know they sell tfs stage 1 cams on there all the time but they go FAST, and I didnt want to wait weeks for one to pop up so I just bought it new..

No I'm in no rush whatso ever. I'm just in the gathering parts stages right now. I have gt40 heads (will be here tuesday) and an explorer intake. I'm still toying with porting them. I've decided I'm sticking with the stock cam so I figured i'd pick up a set of 1.7's. I'll just keep an eye out i guess!
