Hello,

I have a question about the rod bearing clearance.

I have:
- a 460 Siamese bore engine stroked to a 514ci. (0.080 overbore)
- aluminium rods from manley
- castrol R40 oil

Can somebody tell me what the clearance should be of the rod bearing.

Car is for dragrace

i like my bearing clearances for drag racing to be around .002-.0025, and no more than .003. i know some will tell you that sounds a bit loose, and for most street or race engines it is a bit loose, but on a drag engine you want it a bit loose, and you want to freshen the engine up a couple of times during the season.

hello,

My big end (chevy 2.200) of the crank from my 514ci Ford has to be polished. I have oderd the following undersize beaings 0.010!!

I want to have a clearance of the rod bearing between 0.002 and 0.0025

What must be the diameter of the big end of the crank??

I think between 2.200 - 0.010 - 0.002 = 2.188 and 2.200 - 0.010 - 0.0025 = 2.1875

I am right!!!!!!!!!!
