I'm going to need a roll cage this next summer with the turbo up and running, SO
I plan on welding it through to the subframes (ebay kind, but full length) and it's also a weekend cuizer, so getting in and out is a must. Also, i've seen it where you need to cut out the insides of the front door, which is a no no for me.
SO, how many point cage do i need legally for an 11.00 run?
AND, which one would you recommend?
thx
Lee

roll bar is required in any convertible running 13.99 seconds or quicker in the quarter mile, and in other cars beginning at 11.99.

I think you need a 6 point. I wouldn't think you need to cut anything out... just check out some pics

Rhodes Custom, Autoweldchassis, wolfe racecraft, maximum motorsports, autopower... to name a few rollbar places

New NHRA rules for roll bars, verts is 13.49, hardtops is 11.49 or faster. 9's is whole different set of rules.

If all you're going to do is go to the occasional test and tune and you're not planning on getting competitive and doing bracket racing then I would just try pushing your luck for as long as possible before getting a rollbar. I used to run a 01 Trans Am convertible at a track here in Houston at Test and Tunes and never once was I questioned about a bar. I was running low 13's and never had an issue.

well thats the problem around here people get kicked out all the time... my friend had a 1940ish ford truck with a wodden roof he got kicked out for no cage... and a few of my other friends have also been kicked out of tracks and told not to come back for running 11's with out a cage

11's and no cage, yeah, you're getting kicked out pretty much anywhere. But I think anything in the 13's is pretty safe in almost any modern car, including verts, so I don't think you would have an issue there. Dip into the 12's though and you may have to make a fake bar out of those foam pool play tubes on TnT days
